Welcome to Knowledge Family Day Care

**KFDC is currently in the process of obtaining approval for administering the Child Care Subsidy, this update will allow for increased support for assisting families that meet the prerequisites. Upon approval, this site will be reflected to share more information.

Hourly Care Fee:

Total charge per hour: $13.00

Knowledge Family Daycare charges a care fee of  $10.10 per child, per hour.

This fee includes:

• Breakfast
• Morning tea
• Afternoon tea
• Snack
• Educational program

Annual Fee Updates:

The coordination unit will review and update fees  once a year. Families will be notified of any changes  two weeks in advance.

Additional Fees:

Educators may set separate fees for:

• Food
• Transportation
• Late pick-up

Minimum and maximum amounts  for these additional fees will be established by the coordination unit.

Knowledge Family Daycare Administration Fee:

An administration fee is applied to help cover the costs of running the program. This fee is  charged per hour, per child, based on the number of booked hours. The current administration fee is  $2.90 per child, per hour.

Fee Schedule and Enrollment:

Details on all fees, including the service fee, will be provided in the fee schedule during the enrollment process.

Payment Method:

Please note: Knowledge Family Daycare will only accept Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments.

Meals and Transportation:

Knowledge Family Daycare educators set their own rates for meals and transportation during the registration process. These charges will be included in your fee schedule. Child Care Subsidy (CCS) does not apply to meal and transportation fees.

Absences and Absence Fees:

• All absences are charged at the standard rate.
• CCS is paid for a maximum of 42 absences per year across all services, including public holidays, illness, and curriculum days.
• CCS cannot be claimed for absences exceeding 6 consecutive weeks.
• The number of allowable absences may be subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Booked Care:

Booked care offers guaranteed availability with your chosen educator on specific days and times. You will be charged for your booked time even if your child is absent. This option is ideal for families with a fixed work schedule. Changes to bookings require two weeks' notice to your educator, who will then submit the changes through the Harmony Web information system.

Casual Care:

Casual care allows you to pay only for the days and times you use the service. There is no guarantee of availability with a specific educator. If you find yourself using the same days and times regularly, we recommend converting to booked care to ensure consistent availability.

• We encourage you to submit booking requests in advance to secure a spot with your preferred educator.
• Families who utilize casual care may need to work with multiple educators to ensure access to care when needed.

School Holiday Care:

Children enrolled in before/after school care who also utilize school holiday care must notify their educator if they will be absent.  One week's notice is required before the start of school holidays to avoid being charged the full holiday care rate.

Educator Unavailability:

If your educator is unavailable to provide care, you will not be charged a fee.
